Where they stood

Landtmeters Naval Stores Group has supplied shipping since 1830: from superyachts to tugs, from the navy to inland vessels. The website was due for renewal: dated in appearance, and no longer aware of how large the group had become.

Landtmeters is not one company but six. R. de Wit Shipstores, the oldest ship chandler in Belgium. Falcon Seamen Shop, seamen's clothing since 1895. Bandera Flag Makers, everything produced in house. And alongside those, UVO Yachting, Landtmeters Yachting and Fasquelle.

It was unclear where one division ended and the next began. A buyer of industrial ship supplies and someone wanting a custom flag arrived at the same place and had to work out for themselves where to go.

What we did

Build

With a company of this history you do not want to smooth everything over, you want to show it.

The site was rebuilt around a clear house-of-brands structure: every division, Yachting, Industry, Safety and the flag makers, has its own prominent place without visitors losing their way. Navigation is arranged so that a private sailor and a commercial buyer each find what they need straight away.

Beyond that we invested in imagery: professional photography to capture the craft and the scale. Visitors now see the quality of the ropework, the size of the warehouses and the detail in the flags. With products like these, images do the work that text cannot.

What came out

There is now a digital flagship that matches the standing of the company. Clients see at a glance how broad the group is and reach the division that can help them faster.

The imagery does most of that work: visitors stay longer, and the story of a company that has lasted 190 years is finally shown rather than claimed.
